The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) is a category of the economic immigration program in Canada. It is designed to attract skilled tradespeople from around the world who have experience in a skilled trade and can contribute to the Canadian economy.

To be eligible for the FSTP, applicants must have a job offer from a Canadian employer or a Certificate of Qualification from a Canadian provincial or territorial authority. They must also meet the minimum language requirements in either English or French, and have at least two years of full-time work experience in a skilled trade in the five years before applying.

The eligible skilled trades are listed on the National Occupation Classification (NOC) website and are assessed based on skill level, type of work, and other factors. Examples of eligible skilled trades include technical trades, supervisors in natural resources, agriculture and related production, processing, manufacturing and utilities supervisors, cooks, butchers and bakers.

The FSTP is an excellent option for skilled tradespeople who are interested in immigrating to Canada permanently. It allows them to live and work in Canada as permanent residents, and eventually become Canadian citizens
