The Canadian government accepts the following language tests for immigration purposes:

  1. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) – General Training
  2. Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) – General
  3. Test d’évaluation de français pour le Canada (TEF Canada)
  4. Test de connaissance du français pour le Canada (TCF Canada)

For the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program, applicants must provide results from an approved language test as part of their application.

For the Quebec Skilled Worker Program and the Quebec Experience Program, applicants must provide results from a designated language test as part of their application.

The required minimum language score varies depending on the program and the level of proficiency required. Applicants are usually required to meet a minimum score for each of the four language abilities: speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

It is important to note that language test results are only valid for a certain period of time, usually two years. Therefore, applicants should ensure that they take the language test and submit their application before their test results expire.

Overall, language proficiency is an important factor in the Canadian immigration process, as it helps ensure that newcomers can effectively communicate and integrate into Canadian society.
