Comprehensive Ranking System
The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) is a points-based system used by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to evaluate and rank Express Entry candidates who have applied for economic immigration programs such as the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class.
The CRS assigns points to candidates based on various factors, such as age, education, work experience, language proficiency in English and French, and other additional factors such as having a provincial nomination or a valid job offer from a Canadian employer.
The maximum CRS score a candidate can receive is 1,200. The highest-scoring candidates are then invited to apply for permanent residency in Canada through regular Express Entry draws.
The CRS is a fair and transparent system that prioritizes candidates who are most likely to succeed and integrate into Canadian society. Candidates who score higher on the CRS are more likely to receive an invitation to apply for permanent residency, which can lead to a pathway to Canadian citizenship.
