Student Direct Stream is a faster process for issuing study permit for student who satisfies specific requirements. In this case the study permit will be issued within 20 days.

In addition to the requirements for the study permit application, to be eligible for faster processing under Student Direct Stream, the student must:

• Be a legal resident of one of the following countries:
  • Antigua and Barbuda
  • Brazil
  • China
  • Colombia
  • Costa Rica
  • India
  • Morocco
  • Pakistan
  • Peru
  • Philippines
  • Senegal
  • Saint Vincent and the Grenadines
  • Trinidad and Tobago
  • Vietnam
• Live outside Canada when applying
• Have paid the tuition for the first year
• Have a Guaranteed Investment Certificate of $10,000 CAD
• Have language test results with score 6 in each four skills in IELTS (academic or general), or TEF test with score equal to CLB of 7 in each of the four skills
